Your shipments in Europe since July 1, 2021

As of July 1, 2021, all parcels destined for Europe and the United Kingdom are subject to VAT. Value added tax (VAT) varies depending on the country of destination, for example: VAT in France will be 20% and in Switzerland 5%.

These taxes are subject to all packages destined for Europe regardless of the carrier used, namely DHL, Fedex, Royal Mail and many more.

We know that this change can impact your business, so we have developed an "ANKA No Border" tool to help you with customs management.

ANKA No Border

We have developed a tool integrated into your sales process that allows you to directly collect the VAT paid by the customer when ordering.

There are two possible scenarios:

Sales made on Anka

  • The Customer decides to pay VAT at the same time as his order

In this case, the customer will have to pay the amount of his articles + the amount of VAT (which we will have calculated automatically for the customer).

=> The customer will pay VAT + €7 customs clearance costs at the time of the order

=> You will no longer have to pay or manage anything during customs clearance

  • The CUSTOMER does not wish to pay the VAT costs at the same time as his order

The customer will then have to pay the VAT costs at the time of delivery of his order as well as the customs clearance costs.

→ The customer will pay VAT + €17 customs clearance costs on delivery. Note that VAT may increase if customs decides to revalue your package.

→ You will have to manage any disputes with your customers if they decide to go through this option.

Sales made outside Anka: shipping with the DHL Anka account

  • The Seller decides to pay the VAT

In this case, the seller will pay the VAT costs + € 7 customs clearance costs

→ The customer will not have to pay or manage VAT charges or customs clearance costs during delivery

→ This scenario occurs if you have included these costs in the price of your products or if you decide to offer these costs.

  • The Seller does not wish to pay VAT or customs clearance costs

If the seller opts for this option, it is up to the Customer to pay the VAT and customs clearance costs.

→ A direct payment link is automatically sent to the CUSTOMER with the amount of VAT + €7 customs clearance costs. The CUSTOMER has 48 hours to complete the payment.

→ The CUSTOMER does not pay the VAT costs + customs clearance costs, within 48 hours, in this case, the customer will have to pay the VAT costs + €17 customs clearance costs on delivery.
